Substance Abuse Program

Children’s Services of Hampton Roads’ Substance Abuse Program focuses on providing intensive counseling to youth that have a history of using alcohol and/or illegal substances.  The substance abuse program will confront these problems using a therapeutic milieu approach to treatment.  The program components will include but are not limited to:

  • Substance abuse reassessment
  • Group therapy sessions
  • Individual and family therapy sessions
  • Case management services
  • Twenty-four hour on call crisis intervention
  • Drug screening
  • Referrals to support groups for client and parents

A Certified Substance Abuse Counselor will facilitate the group sessions.  Further, an intensive home based component will be available to provide additional support in the home environment.
